Evidence from the National Service Framework for long-term conditions

    Abstract

    Two scoping studies commissioned by the UK Department of Health were undertaken to collate evidence on user and carer experiences of health and social care services to underpin the National Service Framework for long-term conditions. The service users of interest were aged 18 – 65 and conditions were; epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, spinal cord injury, polio and cerebral palsy A key objective was to determine what is currently known about user and carers’ experiences of health and social care services.
