Celebrating fifty years since the filming of cult folk horror The Wickerman in Scotland, SETT STUDIOS, Edinburgh’s most recent studio/ gallery complex hosted their inaugural exhibition FOIK FLAW with invited artist Edward Summerton.

FOIK FLAW brings together for the first time the fifteen studio holders of SETT STUDIOS, linking the exhibition and related series of events with the birthplace of their original nomadic venue at Settlement Projects.

FOIK FLAW celebrates how ancient and reimagined folkloric artefacts, rituals, processions and sound scapes, as introduced both in The Wickerman film and accompanying soundtrack, enable a community a cultural and social identity.

Settlement Projects is part of the international Settlement movement which started over 100 years ago, forming part of a global network of social actions centres promoting social and environmental justice throughout local communities.
