    Abstract

We look at the general properties of tsunamis, their historic and prehistoric records, the geomorphological settings and the essential toolbox to identify these catastrophic events in the field. This is still a relatively new and innovative, multidisciplinary research area but ultimately we have to ask the question, where to from here?
