N2 - Following the Berlin exhibition of Gestural Reflective & Inquiring Tales (G.R.I.T.), the second iteration in 2024 was presented at Drawing Projects UK, Dundee, Scotland (13 Sept-12 Oct) where it was press featured in The Courier, Scotland. Keeping to the exhibition focus to invite contemplation surrounding contemporary painting, G.R.I.T. was intentionally crafted in two aesthetically contrasting platforms with differing, EU social-geopolitical locations. Two pertinent venues that could test curatorial and audience shifts.  KUNSTPUNKT Berlin part of The Network of Berlin Independent Project Spaces & Initiatives e.V. endorses contemporary art with community, accessible audience dedication. Alike, Drawing Projects UK, Scotland advocates drawing, contemporary art. Non-profit centres providing space for artists to test, discuss, develop work, and build communities. Meeting contemporary painting in public, social, non-commercial settings; abolishing any pre-supposed artwork-artist-audience-curator hierarchies. Absorbing both buildings’ sensory strengths and working with their architectural layouts - former histories, and monicker features guided artwork placement. Balancing the stage management to stay painting centred, while also maker-viewer attentive.  Via compositional play and experiential learning the G.R.I.T. curational – painting relationship excelled the maker/viewer connection to freely meet painting.  Resulting, an illuminating display that venerated painting’s ability to slow time and offer involvement via the artworks’ residue of process.  Suspending time, gives rise to stimulate further conversations at the edge of painting.  Impacting societal and cultural well-being, quality education and sustainable, inclusive international communities.
