Abstract
Our preliminary findings show that Ecuadorian vessel raising method is "from the inside". This technique, of pre-Hispanic origins, is on the brink of disappearing together with the whole Ecuadorian knowledge system of metalworking, due to the pressure of the global economic conditions that, among other things, have broken the chain of intergenerational transmission of silversmithing knowledge and beliefs system. This is a technique unknown in the UK
