    Abstract

This article reports on research by the family-support organisation Promoting a More Inclusive Society into bereavement and loss among people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLDs) and their carers. The researchers held a series of interviews and focus groups to enable parents, carers and professionals to share their experiences of loss, and thereby to identify whether they were being supported adequately. Information gathered from these meetings informed the development of a learning resource pack that explores the experiences of bereavement and loss among people with PMLDs, and the needs of bereaved parents and carers.
