Abstract
Exhibition Dates: 24th October 2024 - 24th January 2025
Display of a selection of archival material selected from research. Bodor and Hunter researched the Attic Archive at Artpool with archivist Dora Halasi between April and September 2024. The research was for an exhibition planned to coincide with the second international research network meeting of the project Curating The Digital Attic Archive: A Case Study For Open-Source Approaches To Artists’ Archive in Budapest. The exhibition was planned for October 2024-January 2025 at the Museum of Fine Arts - Artpool Art Research Center Gallery. Unfortunately, due to a sudden dispute with the Museum, the artist withdrew his consent for the public exhibition in the last minute. So, we were only able to realise it on a much smaller scale as an archival display for only 4 weeks in October 2024.
The research however, was significant, and led to bringing out rarely or never-seen material from archival storage to public view including artefacts, drawings, video art and correspondence from DATA (Daily Action Time Archive), a ten-year project between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989 documenting Pete Horobin’s existence in his 30s, his work in the Scottish landscape, and involvement in the ‘Eternal Network’ of correspondence artists internationally through mail art and Neoist activities.
