Abstract

Alcohol is responsible for approximately 3.3 million deaths per year and is the leading risk factor for mortality among people aged 15 to 49. My SSA Griffith Edwards Academic Fellowship Award enabled me to address a key research question idenfied in the literaure and by public health experts in the UK - Which screening tool should be considered as the 'gold standard' for assessing the drinking behaviour of those under the age of 18?
