Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: Primary objective To determine which surgical treatment modalities for oral/oropharyngeal cancer lead to the best outcome in terms of disease‐free survival, mortality (or overall survival), recurrent disease and quality of life compared with other surgical, radiotherapy or chemotherapy combinations. Secondary objective To determine the implication of treatment modalities in terms of morbidity, costs, hospital days of treatment, quality‐adjusted‐life‐years (QALYs), complications and harms.
