Introduction: Cultural Relevance and Empathy through Experiential Learning

Abstract

This chapter sets an overarching position of experiential learning, considering the challenges that can become apparent as we consider empathy within cultural contexts. It will outline each of the chapters within the book and give an overview of the knowledge contributions that they make across art history, inclusive design, graphic design, architecture and interior design, and the pedagogical approaches to embed these within institutions.
