Funded by Creative Scotland (£32.901), Jasmina Cibic: The pleasure of Expense was an exhibition and event project of new commission of artist’s film, installation and performance by the award-winning Slovenian artist. In parallel to Cibic’s exhibition was the 12-hour Non-State Parade that set forth an alternative imaginary in which the hidden powers and style sheet of the contemporary state and its expression as social relations was unpacked, subverted and redressed. It included contributions from story tellers, artists, dancers, playwrights, poets, filmmakers, feminist bloggers and an international women’s community choir. The event was punctuated with annotations by French philosopher Alain Badiou.
