    Abstract

    Exhibition dates: 19 July – 15 October 2014

Marking the 20th year of the Jerwood Drawing Prize, the festival is a celebration of contemporary illustration practice.

As well as profiling the prize’s two decade history, an accompanying exhibition features work by the artists who have been involved as selectors.

Part-time Hastings resident, Sir Quentin Blake – best known for bringing Roald Dahl’s mad-cap characters to life – presents a new series of drawings created especially for the festival. Produced following a series of sketching trips to the gallery, they reveal his interpretation of ten highlights in the Jerwood Collection.
