    Abstract

Many highly reflective metals have been transformed into black or coloured metal by femtosecond pulsed laser. After femtosecond laser processing, nano- and micro- structures formed on the metal surface can absorb around 85%-95% of incident light in the range from ultraviolet to infrared.
