Abstract

The present umbrella review aims to explore the ways in which ways existing systematic reviews evaluate visual art participation in dementia research. Having the review of de Medeiros and Basting (2013) as a reference point, we aim to incorporate insights from creative practices and critical theory to foster a nuanced, multifaced understanding of the meaningful role of visual arts in recognising the varied ways of living with dementia.
