note = "A touring video booth (L2.5m x W1.2m x H2.2m) placed in public spaces and an expanding website gallery space for the resulting recorded video clips. 'Move-me' is a unique opportunity for anyone to experience being a performer working with some of the world's most well known, innovative contemporary dance-makers. The specially constructed booth is placed in theatre foyers, galleries, art centres, dance spaces, or universities.– and is free for anyone to use. The user selects their choice of choreographer - Nigel Charnock (UK), Jonzi D (UK), Rafael Bonachela (Spain), Deborah Hay (USA), New Art Club (UK), Kirstie Simson (UK) Shobana Jeyasingh (UK) and Stephen Petronio (USA) - and then, guided by instructions, creates a dance that is captured on video within the confines of the booth. These dances are then added to the curated archive on move-me.com. Revealing choreographic process has been at the heart of the artists{\textquoteright} collaborative work for the past ten years and move-me is currently the forefront of that. Can untrained members of the public be guided by professional choreographers to make an interesting video dance work? What will the accumulative affect be of seeing hundreds of different people from different locations doing the same dances in slightly different ways? The project funding totalled £126,575 from a range of organisations including Arts Council England. Launched at the ICA London February 2006 the booth has toured venues in the UK and Holland. It has received widespread press and broadcast coverage including BBC2 Newsnight review and BBC Radio4 Frontrow. The award winning and Webby 2007 nominated www.move-me.com site had 105,000 visitors between February 2006 and March 2007 who viewed 185,000 video clips.
