title = "Not Fair Won't Share",
abstract = "A warm and simple story about friendship and learning to share. Strong characters and bright illustrations make this an ideal first picture book. Meet Pinky and Blue, (both dogs). Pinky is small, pink and very noisy. Blue is big, blue and likes peace and quiet. The two dogs are the best of friends - most of the time! But when Pinky and Blue have an argument and Pinky leaves home, Blue discovers that sometimes peace and quiet isn't that much fun...",

note = "This book explores the sensitive subject of sibling rivalry. Through two appealing dog characters, the reader is introduced to a family environment of sharing, patience and compromise on the part of the older character whilst being subtly introduced to the mischievous and selfish actions of a younger, more boisterous sibling. Through expressive illustration, the book generates a supportive atmosphere for the reader and the central characters. This all changes when an argument ensues and the younger sibling is banished. The aim here is to expose the reader to the idea of consequences and common consideration, to make children aware that we are all different and often have very different personalities and behavioural traits. Through the use of appropriate narrative and visual representation the book conveys the idea that the rewards of love and friendship far outweigh the negative responses that can lead to unhappiness and seclusion. This book further extends the exploration of the relationship between textual and visual narrative that was developed in output 1. The objective of the practice is to refine a harmonised relationship between the two, applied to child developmental issues. Evidence: Book and portfolio of supporting evidence ",
