Abstract
This work was installed as part of Sculpture Placement Group's (SPG) Team Sculpture programme, delivered in partnership with Barnardo’s GAP Homes. Led by artist Aqsa Arif, the project engaged young people in an in-depth exploration of contemporary sculpture through practical workshops, exhibition visits, and discussions about the role of public art. Participants developed their own creative responses and collectively selected an artwork for permanent installation within the GAP Homes setting.
The group chose my work, Old Ghosts (Archaeological Dig), a sculptural ensemble originally produced as part of Old Ghosts, a major commission curated by Will Cooper for The Holburne Museum in 2022. Their selection reflects both their critical engagement with the artworks encountered and their collaborative approach to decision-making. Through this process, Old Ghosts (Archaeological Dig) has now been re-sited, extending the life of the work while enriching the residential environment of GAP Homes.
