Abstract
The idea of love in pedagogical relationships can be looked on with suspicion and considered unprofessional. bell hooks recognises the possibility of love in such relationships but also recognises that it can be a transgressive act. Drawing on a range of sources, including some of the author’s own material, this paper will consider the transgressive possibilities of allowing love into professional relationships.
