Abstract
PaintLounge Berlin is a gathering of painters from the UK and Germany who exhibited and shared a weekend of conversations about contemporary painting on weekend 16-18 November with a series of 'Painters in Conversation’ talks as part of Sluice Art Exchange Berlin hosted in the Kühlhaus Berlin.
The Exchange is part of the British Council's UK/Germany season, celebrating the "cultural connections between the UK and Germany". Supported by the Arts Council England.

Exchange Berlin encourages integrated, collaborative and even spontaneous modes of exhibition and critical evaluation. The aim of all Sluice projects is to offer an independent alternative to the dominant organisational paradigms whilst demonstrating a belief in the importance of international engagement for otherwise local projects".
