Abstract

In May 2019, artists Jen Southern and Rod Dillon asked what a parasite's travel blog would look like. Running from May to September in LifeSpace Science Art Research Gallery, Para-site-seeing: Departure Lounge brought this question to life. It allowed visitors to take a journey as the Leishmania parasite, and travel with Sand Fly.

This catalogue contains images of the exhibition and a collection of essays. You will discover more of the artists thoughts and challenges, find out about the curatorial process and gain an insight into why we believe science and art together work so well as a form of public engagement. With contributions from NEoN Festival and Professor Sir Mike Ferguson, this work offers a great addition to a Para-site-seeing trip.
