Abstract

Most formulations of metal inks comprise of a suspension of nanoparticles however, these suffer when printed by the formation of unwanted agglomeration. We developed a silver-complex, particle-free ink for ‘smart-clothing’ through inkjet printing. High-quality jetting and printing was demonstrated upon polyester fabric, with the aid of a corona pre-treatment and by the formation of electrical circuitry of low sheet resistivity, 1.378 ± 0.001 Ω/□ which was applied in the lighting of a 1.9 V, 250 mA LED.
