Abstract
The PGR Awards Programme was initiated in 2021 within the Doctoral Academy at the University of Dundee. Dr Sandra Oza designed it to empower PGRs and enhance their professional skills development. Credo Academy facilitated the program, which provided training in mediatising PGRs and their submissions,
newsgathering, and libel practices.
The programme offered a £200 Professional Development Award to each interested PGR participant after they submitted their final products. Participants underwent training and were required to present their ideas through a short pitch and produce two outputs from three options: a blog, podcast, or TikTok. Support was provided throughout the program via in-person training sessions, online drop-in office hours, and a communication channel for peer-led learning and community building.
