    Abstract

When is a book not a book? Take eight artists, leave them in a field, a street, a wood, hospital, graveyard, or an abandoned industrial folly. Leave them to explore…

The culmination of a year’s exploration and examination of the city of Leeds, the book features images and texts by artists Amanda Burton, Donna Coleman, Sarah Deakin, Charys Ellmer, Sandy Holden, Lorna Johnstone, Morticia and Nigel Stone, and has been designed and edited by project leads and mentors to artists, Dr Judit Bodor, Dr Emma Bolland and Tom Rodgers.

64-page paperback, designed to reflect the spirit of collaboration and discovery that developed during the artists’ journey, Place & Memory highlights the poetry and beauty to be found in the overlooked corners of the city.
