Planar particle trapping and manipulation with ultrasonic transducer arrays

    Abstract

    We report the use of piezoelectric arrays to generate ultrasound for particle trapping and manipulation. We have conceptualised, designed, fabricated and experimentally demonstrated the function of electronically controlled 1D arrays and studied their behaviour theoretically.
