Abstract

Sets out four reasons why nature conservation matters and should be thought about in the UK before briefly outlining how nature conservation should be dealt with in developing plans, planning applications, planning agreements, conservation areas, and tree preservation orders. Concludes by examining special sites: Sites of Special Scientific Interest; Nature Reserves; National Scenic Areas; Natural Heritage Areas; Special Protection Areas; Ramsar Sites; and World Heritage Sites. -A.Gilg
