Abstract

To commemorate the centenary of Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist

Andrew Carnegie’s death, the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust commissioned a portrait of Carnegie to be created on-site at the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum between 3 October and 25 November, 2019. The process took place in public view and groups of visitors were invited to come and see the portrait taking shape as well as to cast their vote on what museum artefact should be included in the work.
