Abstract

This paper treats power interconnections as a form of regional energy integration, commenting on the relationship between them, energy transmission, and energy transition, emphasising the improvements that must be made in the execution of transmission infrastructure works to advance in interconnection policies. Once the above analysis has been made, a study of the Latin American reality is carried out, providing a certain background of energy integration processes, and reviewing the current state of electrical interconnections in that region, as well as their transmission challenges. Finally, after reviewing the particularities of Latin America power interconnections, certain findings and conclusions are presented.
