Abstract

Resumo
O presente artigo discute a questão dos sem-teto na Escócia e sua relação com a pobreza, apresentando a experiência de intervenção do programa nacional de prevenção e promoção da saúde oral e do bem estar psicossocial da população homeless (sem-teto), o Smile4life. Discutem-se as implicações da falta de moradia na saúde, saúde oral e bem estar dos sem-teto, no contexto das respectivas políticas públicas do governo. Amplia-se o debate no que tange ao direito a saúde de grupos em situação de vulnerabilidade social, tendo como elemento essencial a necessidade de uma melhor articulação entre a política de habitação e a política de integração dos serviços de saúde e assistência social voltadas para os sem-teto.

Abstract
This article discusses the problem of homelessness in Scotland and its relations with poverty, presenting the intervention experience of the national program for prevention and promotion of oral health and the psychosocial well-being for homeless people, the Smile4life. It discusses the implications of homelessness on health, oral health and well-being in the context of its public policies from the Government. The debate on the right to health of groups in situation of social vulnerability is expanded, having the essential element the need for a better articulation between housing policy and the policy of integration of health services and social assistance to tackle homelessness.
