Abstract

This chapter gives an overview of the origin of public relations in the public sector. It examines the characteristics of national and local government and health sector PR, details new developments, and discusses emergent challenges facing the sector. It also takes into account the latest changes in UK legislation, specifically the Elections Act 2022, relating to government communications.
