Abstract
The Concrete Technology Unit (CTU) at the University of Dundee continues to
undertake research on a range of challenges facing concrete, with a focus on the
performance of low-carbon cements and aggregates. Work funded by the Mineral
Products Association (MPA), UK Quality Ash Association (UKQAA), Scottish Partnership in Energy and Engineering Research & Innovation (SPEERI), Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and Rock Solid Processing examines coal-derived fly ash (CDFA) from legacy stockpiles and calcined clays, rapid durability assessment of low carbon binders and the use of incinerator bottom-ash aggregates (IBAA) in concrete.
