    Abstract

John McGarry and Brendan O’Leary provide, in the substantive essay in Part I of this volume, an impressive summary of the arguments they have developed over many years with respect to the management of the ethnonational conflict in Northern Ireland. These two political scientists have without question produced the most significant body of academic literature on this conflict and its recent peace process.1
