    Abstract

The article provides an initial analysis of the investor-state disputes that have arisen in recent years from the legal and regulatory actions taken by European states, and concludes that there are parallels between the vulnerability of investors in this sector to policy realignments with those in the extractive (oil & gas) sectors.
