Abstract
Scouts Scotland commissioned research at the University of Dundee to explore how volunteering with the Scouts contributes to the development of key employability skills and personal growth.
The research took place between June 2024 and October 2024 and was carried out via a mixed-method approach; combining an online survey and qualitative interviews with volunteers.
By looking into their experiences, we sought to shed light on the wide range of skills that are cultivated through volunteering with Scouts Scotland, how experiences may differ depending on factors like age and length of service, and their relevance to employment.
