Abstract
An exploratory prototype for a therapeutic capsule to perform ultrasound-mediated targeted drug delivery in the gastrointestinal tract has been developed and is presented as a proof of concept. The design of the capsule and the fabrication of a 5 mm Ø focused ultrasound transducer are also described, with the results of preliminary feasibility tests.
