Abstract
Scotland is now poised to make itself more capable of contributing to the achievement of climate change, renewable energy or waste management targets. As such, three draft regulations have been implemented by the Executive with the auspice of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2006. It will concentrate on participation and scrutiny of draft plans, in line with the overall aim of having greater engagement at the development planning stage. The three sets of draft regulations include the Town and Country Planning Regulations 2007, Development Plan and Local Development Regulations 2007 and the Planning etc Act of 2006.
