Abstract

The Executive continues to issue policy documents directly and indirectly related to the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003 (WEWS), the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 (CAR) and, more generally, the implementation of the Water Framework Directive 2006/60/EC (WFD). This paper covers headline issues in Scotland which are as follows: diffuse pollution; objectives, standards and conditions; CAR - Third party representations; nitrate vulnerable zones; valuing water; and water services.
