Other | University of Dundee, is inviting you to attend a conference with the focus on thinking-again the Scholarship and Research divide. This conference has in previous years been organised by the School of Education and Social Work - now part of the new School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law. The aim of the conference is to bring together students and academics to explore scholarship and research ideas. The focus is to create a vibrant space where people come together to discuss and engage critically on current issues. As in previous years this conference is co-coordinated with colleagues of Medical Education, School of Medicine, University of Dundee. This year’s conference theme aims at helping us think-again about the academic identities that are influenced by the binary tension of Scholarship and Research. Academic identities are often constructed in ways that position one in either one of these categories, allowing little possibilities of movements between the two. Are there other ways of understanding academic identities that question and, in some way, deconstruct this binary? How does practice and reach/theory come together? Or is this a never-ending battle between the two divides? |
