Abstract
The Palliative Care Congress, a joint venture between the Association for Palliative Medicine (APM) and the Palliative Care Research Society (PCRS), takes place in Gateshead this year from 14 to 16 March. Now in its ninth year, the Congress brings together doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners, researchers, social scientists, clinical scientists, and lay people to explore a whole variety of issues in palliative care, from the role of dignity to the scope of palliative care research. But why should nurses, particularly clinical palliative care nurses, bother to attend conferences?
