N2 - The age discrepancy between lunar highlands and mare is examined in terms of a hydrostatic head model incorporating an impact crater being fed continuously from depth with basaltic magma. It is shown that if the age difference is attributed to the filling time of the impact basin, the dimensions of the volcanic feeder conduits are of the order of a few metres.
