Abstract
This chapter analyzes the draft exploitation regulations in the Area and poses questions for sustainable resources management in the light of Agenda 2030. Both the Draft and the process for its development require aligning with the global development agenda enshrined in Agenda 2030 and considering evolving systemic approaches embedded in the SDGs, in the context of evolving technological and scientific knowledge, and economic and environmental uncertainties. The procedural, substantive and institutional dimensions of sustainable resource management demand further attention in the analysis of the concept of the Area and its resources as common heritage of mankind
