The effect of rectal examination on serum acid phosphatase

    Abstract

    Prostatic serum acid phosphatase was measured before and at fixed intervals after rectal examination in 10 patients with no clinical indications of prostatic disease and in 10 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The acid phosphatase activity was no osignificantly altered after rectal examination.
