Abstract

An account is given of the history and development of numerical analysis in Scotland. This covers, in particular, activity in Edinburgh in the first half of the 20th century, the collaboration between Edinburgh and St Andrews in the 1960s, and the role played by Dundee from the 1970s. I will give some reminiscences from my own time at both Edinburgh and Dundee.
