Abstract
Poet Heather Yeung narrates excerpts of her work *Barzakh* over 16mm footage shot on the Orkney Islands. Combining memory, poetry, and the empty landscapes of the narrator's homeland, The Islands Above is a tourist's look at an isolated local. A deeply situated process-piece composed by Elbir and Yeung over Midsummer Day on Orkney.
