    Abstract

    The Catalyst Experiment is a new collection of essays on art writing edited by Lise Haurum and Trine Rytter Andersen. The book culminates the five year research project 'Project Art Writing' which comprises THE CATALYST EXPERIMENT is an interdisciplinary and thematic exhibition format, in which renowned art writers contribute works of art, installations, texts and pictures. The exhibition idea draws its inspiration from a popular architectural concept: catalyst architecture, which aims to unite inhomogeneous and mutually alien urban areas. The title, THE CATALYST EXPERIMENT, is based on an understanding of art writing as a catalyst for the experimental meeting between text and other aesthetic expressions.The exhibition’s works illustrate art writing at the point between contemporary literature and art.
