Abstract
Examines the Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), introduced by the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. Outlines the origins and main features of the SCIO and details the creation and registration process. Comments on the trustees' and members' rights and duties and highlights the benefits of having a single regulator. Highlights some concerns regarding the scheme.
