Abstract

Virtual reality projected created in collaboration with the Holburne Museum and shown at Forest of Imagination 2019. The Wow! Museum was a piece of software created by Head, that utilised the Holburnes collection of small figurines and other pieces normally hidden to the public. By using photogrammetry, example objects were scanned. Head created a virtual reality version of the one of the museum’s galleries with the sculptures inside. Additionally, and following on from his research as an Immersion Fellow for the South West Creative Technology Network, interactivity was added that enabled the user of the VR headset to spray the virtual gallery with flowers and leaves, thus creating a sculpture garden. The project was shown at the Forest of Imagination 2019, Bath, with children as a target audience. Feedback was gathered via a survey and a report written from the responses of children and adults.
