THz electro-absorption effect in quantum dots

    Abstract

    Instantaneous electro-absorption effect in quantum dots, induced by electric field of THz pulse with 3 THz bandwidth is demonstrated in THz pump optical probe experiment. This effect may be promising for Tbit/s wireless transmission systems.
