Abstract
Research context: Drawing Biennial 2017 offers insights into how artists contend with a world in rapid and disorienting flux. A snapshot of contemporary drawing practices, the exhibition includes more than 200 new and recent works on paper by leading international artists.
Research content: This exhibition invites artists from around the world to contribute a drawing each year in order to help fund its annual programme. As such, it provides a defacto survey of the ‘state’ of drawing in contemporary art practice. The show is accompanied by talks and events and has a newspaper publication which acts as a guide.
