title = "Understanding Multiple and Multi-dimensional Transitions (MMT) Theory and its XII Pillars",
abstract = "This chapter provides an overview and context to the entire handbook. It starts with the aims of the handbook followed by an introduction to the origin and my latest thinking about my Multiple and Multi-dimensional Transitions (MMT) Theory that runs as a thread throughout the handbook. The MMT Theory is unpacked and key terminology explained to avoid any misunderstandings regarding what I mean by them. This is followed by an in-depth explanation of the XII Pillars of successful MMT, indicating how each one emerged from research, what they mean and how different strategies can be used to strengthen these Pillars. The chapter also provides different analogies to explain the interdependence and interaction of the Person of Interest (PoI) and their significant others{\textquoteright} transitions and Pillars. Finally, the chapter concludes with an introduction to the structure of the handbook and all the chapters.",
