Abstract

An Action Research Project (ARP) was carried out between January and February 2024 as part of the requirements of the University of Dundee’s Associate Module (ED50042). This was to gain the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education (PGCAPHE). The ARP focused on the closure of tutorial sessions and how these could be enhanced to increase student engagement, and reflection on, the intended learning outcomes (ILOs). A summary activity utilising different coloured Post-it notes was created to aid this process of reflection, leading to a student-led discussion on the ILOs covered to enhance any gaps in knowledge. Each tutorial covered a different topic within the Developing Healthcare Practice module with Year 2 undergraduate nursing students, across 2 learning groups within the Adult field.
